Environmental Refugees

Walking on Roxas boulevard along Manila Bay, I stumbled upon a series of street portraits all with the same story of being displaced from their homes due to a natural disaster. Unfortunately their rural job skills didn't translate well into an urban setting, hence the need to work the streets at whatever job they could create.

Crazy Convicts & Free Settlers

Crazy Convicts and free settlers is an in depth look at actual characters that existed in Sydney in the 1800s. Verging on the side of lunacy and quirkiness, these free settlers and convicts lived in the now historic Rocks area of Sydney. Here is my take on how they may have acted and lived.

Work, Rest & Play

The brief was work, rest and play for a set of these environmental portraits printed on poster sized canvas and displayed outside the Lan Cove Gallery for Lane Cove Council in Sydney.

Colonial Botanicals

Inspired by Colonial Botanical Illustrations done from the first fleet back in 1788.

The Nail That Sticks Out

“The nail that sticks out gets hammered down” “出る釘は打たれる deru kugi wa utareru” comes up in daily conversations when speaking about Japanese society. The hammer of course refers to society and the nail, to an individual. The hammer ridicules and scrutinises nails which stand out, then proceed until pressured to conform.

Glorious Food

The Brief: elegant, luxurious, decadent and delicious food.
